We thank you or your letter of the 9th December, to
which we beg to reply.

•
On looking at all the partionlars which you give us,
seo exactly that these are the goods which we shipped, and for
which we did not get remittance on account of the outbreak of the
War, therefore the Deutsche Asiatic Bank received payment from you
but did not pay anything to Boliker in Hamburg against theee
amounts.
Since writing you, we have been in communication with
the Colonial Ortion regarding this olaim, and have reason to know
that the Government is collecting evidence with a view to protect -
ing British firms. therefore think, if you have a surpine in hand after the finish of the Liquidation, the Government Author-
ities will grant the payment to na of the amounts we gave yon,
plus interent,
Naturally, we should be quite ready to give ample guar-
antee to the various Banks, that our claim is in order.
We take this opportunity of enclosing copy of the Account current which we sent to the Colonial Office, which includes interest
up to the beginning of this year.
